Understaffed |
|
|
I work at Charelstons in Mesa I serve tables and bartend. It can be really fun and really stressful sometimes. Our staff is made up of people 16 and older. The bulk of the serving staff are in their 20's and maybe a few in the thirties. Lately a lot of people have moved, graduated or partied too hard and got fired. We have only somewhere around 20 servers when we should have 40-50 to be comfortable.
What irritates me is that we have not hired nearly enough new people. So I asked my manager "how many servers do we have on staff?" and they said "why" , and said, "because we are understaffed." I was being understanding and not a jackass about the question. I just realized that the management has not done really anything to recruit people. So she said that they put an ad in the paper. But I talked to another server and she said she looks in the ad and hasn't seen anything from our restarant in there. I think that the management is full of crap and they haven't done anything. So I told them they should make some fliers and have us employees post them up at school. Everyone who works at chucks has a full schedule so that means when they aren't at work they are at school or another job, think about it out of around 20 servers there are 14 shifts per week, each lunch shift calls for around 13 servers and night calls for 15-20 depending on the night, that doesn't leave much leeway. Charelston's management sucks at this crap.

Not surprised |

I am not surprised. Management at restaurants are not typically that intelligent. If they continue on the route, I would get outta dodge.
