DirecTV come to papa bear!
As of tomorrow, we will be jumping off the public television bandwagon and hopping onto the DirecTV Hummer Wagon.

Yes, tomorrow, we will have HD DVR DirecTV....no more low definition discovery channel atrocious signals.  We will watch Discovery channel, animal planet, ESPN 1 2 3, and NFL Ticket.   Woot!

Cassius will benefit the most as his love for Discovery Channel and Animal Planet is great.  He will expand his animal sounds from a mere dog, cat, elephant, lion, snake, and "horsie" to baboons, hyenas, and a plethora of bird species!

Christmas lights, snowman, and Zoolights! Ho ho ho!
Well I did not manage to get the christmas lights and snowman on Sunday.  The house was a mess with toys everywhere and bags from christmas shopping at Fiesta Mall in Mesa, AZ.

Almost everyone in the neighborhood has their lights out and they all seem to have the same "deer taking a sip of fresh lake" or "deer taking a  sip of fresh river" water or "deer taking a sip of fresh ponded rainwater." And then....AND THEN...the neighbor just recently put up a blowup candycane snowman.  At least our blowup snowman does not have the candycane.

My cousin set up musical lights at his house.  They are cool and I now do not need to go see zoo lights this year.  I think the only thing missing are the fornicating animals lights at zoolights (for those that have not been to zoolights before, they have lights of animals in pairs and they all look like they are doing the wild thang).

Merry Christmas to all.

Thanksgiving, Pilgrims, Indians, and Turkeys!
Thanksgiving is near, the time of the gollolobly delicious prehistoric bird we call the turkey!  I wonder how far back turkeys go really.
They seem like something that dinosaurs would have for a mini snack, much like the mini snickers and musketeers bars we eat today.

Oh yes and don't forget the mashed potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, stuffing and more.

Mmmm mm yummy, foody in my tummy.

Golllolobolobolee!

Busy & Stargate Worlds
Its been pretty busy lately.  Not much time for video games, not much time for watching Boston Legal, and just enough time to eat and go to sleep when I get home from work.

Cassius is really starting to progress in relation to his intelligence.  I am still waiting for him to say  "lets go to the park", but I do enjoy him spattering off "airmane" every 5 minutes when we are outside (we are along the flight path for the airplanes that come into Sky Harbor Airport).

I have played a couple video games lately, Bioshock and Tabula Rasa.  Bioshock is OK although I am sure I would enjoy it more if my video card had pixel 3.0 shader technology (normal water appears as oil).  There are a lot of repeat games out there for the past 5 years or so.  Coming out with pacman 50 times does not mean fresh.

The game I am really anticipating is Stargate Worlds, a science fiction MMORPG for all the stargate phreaks out there, as well as anyone else looking to get off the Dungeons and Dragons MMORPG bandwagon.  I can't wait to go blast the replicators and watch them dissolve to the ground.  Below is a screenshot:

Trip to Fossil Creek, AZ
Cassius and I took a trip down to Fossil Creek for Labor Day weekend.
We first came across a territorial crazy lady that thought she was going to have a campsite in the parking lot next to the creek.   Quite amusing.

Fossil Creek Rapids

Then Cassius and I decided to brave the rapids of Fossil Creek.
Fossil Creek, AZ - before crossing

Here we go!  There were pirahna nibbling at our feet!
Crossing fossil creek

We MADE IT!
Fossil Creek - West Side

And after we crossed, Cassius splashed around in the water a bit and then it was time to go back to "the other side."  This time, I used dragonfly dung, extremely waterproof and an anti-pirahna repellent, to cross the rapids safely and at our own leisurely pace.
Fossil Creek - crossing back

It was yet another adventurous day in the life of Cassius and I.  After our adventure, cassius pointed to the "guy in the sky" and said "you da man, you da man."
